I use this for working with water-based clay/ceramics to roll out very small slabs. The handles are separate from the main barrel, which allow my hands to stay stationary while the pin rolls (unlike my wooden rolling pins that are lathed from one solid piece of wood), and the silicone keeps the clay from sticking to my pin. Great purchase!
