the edges are serged instead of hemmed, and on the first washing two of the edges pulled out of the serging leaving ragged sections on the sides.I don't understand why, if you're going to make a product, you don't make it to the best of your ability. Yes, it would probably take a few extra minutes to actually HEM the edges, but it would last a lot longer!The weight of this cloth is really good - it's nice and heavy. Somewhat stiff, too. I like this in a pastry cloth. The size is OK, although I'd prefer it to be a bit larger so I can have space to not only roll out the dough but also have a small pile of flour for flouring my cookie cutters, etc.I recommend this pastry cloth with one reservation: Before using it, hem all the edges if you want it to last!I also highly recommend the Ateco pastry cloth: Ateco Pastry Cloth and Rolling Pin Cover The rolling pin cover is exceptionally long, which is great if you, like I, have a long rolling pin.

Someone told me about the use of pastry cloth. HOW DID I EVER LIVE WITHOUT IT?I love to make home made quiche.... and the crusts (although always wonderful) are now "out of this world." Can't wait to try on an apple pie...For the price, get this set. If you don't like it, someone else (like myself) who knows the instrinisic value of this will take it off your hands faster than a pickpocket at a circus!
