I bought these rolling pins for my daughter's cooking party. They are the perfect size for little hands, they measure 7.5 inches by 1 inch. $2.99 for 8 rolling pins is very very cheap (37 cents each!) especially since I had seen the same ones on several other sites for no less than $2 each! They were so cheap I was worried that they might not even be real rolling pins but they are in fact real, wooden rolling pins. Great value, great price and a great party favor for my daughters cooking party! I couldn't be happier!

I liked this initially because I thought it was a good bargain for my toddlers to use with their playdough. When they arrived, I was pleased with them. They look good and feel reasonably well made for the price, etc. However, after a week of owning them, I realized that the wood is not finished and has a bit of a rough feel. One would think - who cares? I can live with that, BUT, what this means is that the playdough doesn't really come right off. It sort of sticks, and even at the end of play when you try to take the playdough off, it is hard to get it all off. Which then means you have a little bit of old, hard playdough on the rolling pin for the next time - which means that eventually, after the 2nd - 4th time of use, the rolling pins are crusty and it gets hard to roll the playdough flat. I suppose I will probably get around this by washing them in warm water from time to time, but for me that is more high-maintenance than I would like. All the other rolling pins we have (Melissa & Doug, etc) are finished and we don't have this problem.Good luck to you in your kids rolling pin search!
Cooking for fun
I purchased the rolling pins to use in a cooking class. They really don't fit the bill for this.The rolling pins are really cute and would be great for goody bags after a cooking themed partyor for really young children to use with play dough or for rolling out sugar or cut-out cookies.Much better for younger, smaller hands. They are decent quality and very inexpensive!
