I am thrilled with this tool! I don't bake every day, but I like to do it sometimes - I use my great-grandmother's recipes (which I got from my Mom) and so I deal with yeast doughs, quick-bread doughs, but also like to make pizza and anything else (because anything you make at home comes out better than buying it).Anyway, my Mom is old-school and prefers to work by hand. I thought I needed a rolling pin - I've used plastic ones before - they're a pain. Then I saw this neat little roller - what a blast. It things out the dough effortlessly, with almost no arm effort. The smaller roller is great for filling in corners. I made 2 rolls yesterday (poppy-seed and apricot-walnut) and also made 2 braided brioche loaves. A board covered with wax paper (for easy cleanup), a dough cutter/scraper and this roller is all I need!It's so easy that I was making my dough too thin at first, had to adjust my technique :)I wipe it with mineral oil (like I do my end grain chopping block) - to keep it from cracking in the future. Wash it with just running water (no soap needed).The metal wire feels really sturdy, the whole tool feels really solid (and you really don't need much pressure on it).I will say: the wood COULD be smoother polished, but at this price I won't complain. Hopefully it'll smooth out from use. But I had zero sticking issues.

I am absolutely terrible at rolling. With a big pin I end up with overly thin areas and thick areas. With this, I can control it. And the grandkids can manage it easily. I can't think of the last time I pulled out my big roller. I just have no need.

I had been using a plastic cup to roll out my pizza dough and decided I needed something a bit more substantial. Because the price was so reasonable, I bought two of these rollers to keep the peace among my children. I made sure to wash them, let them dry then rubbed them with vegetable oil. I think the oil made a big difference as dough hardly stuck to it. I recommend this pastry pizza roller!
