Perfectly smooth rolling pins with no handles? Surely, this is the pinnacle of existence. And metal? Oh, rapture!I am seriously in love with this rolling pin. I use it for tortillas, mostly. I did bruise my hands a little the first time I used it (I was used to working with awkward handles, not pressing on the actual tube) but I've gotten used to it now, and it's so easy to clean because it's not WOOD - there are no cracks or crannies for flour to get into. Rinse, dry, and put away!

I'll admit, I originally purchased this b/c it was silver in color, much like the rest of my kitchen stuff. But after using and washing it, I'll never use any other rolling pin. It's a great width, sturdy yet lightweight, and works well for rolling and beating (i.e. chicken breasts). It's nice to be able to put this in the dishwasher, but it's also incredibly easy to hand wash. Once you consider the sanitary aspect, I can't find a reason why anyone would want to use anything but this item.

This 14" long Stainless Steel Rolling pin is actually 2" in diameter. I will try to have Amazon update the page for the correct diameter. I don't know why they call it French, as it does not taper smaller on the ends. It is hollow within, so it is lightweight, but the ends have caps welded over which makes it is easy to clean. I can hear some particles probably left over from the welding/manufacturing rolling around inside - but it just sounds like some sand, no big deal since it has no effect on the performance.
