You will really appreciate the quality of this rolling pin...whether you bake infrequently or as a side business like I do. The length is perfect for pie crusts, cookie dough. The weight, width, and the spin of the roller make for nice even dough without rapping your knuckles, or worse - pressing all the air out of your dough! Feels great in your hands, doesn't stick to dough, and cleans up easily. Great price too, considering you'll probably never have to buy one again! I highly recommend!

My rolling pin was very old and beat up, cracked, and didn't roll so well anymore. It was just a cheap wooden one, and I needed a new one. After lots of research, I decided that I like the feel of the heavy rolling ones, and wanted a medium sized one.I do not put this in the dishwasher. I haven't needed to do anything more than wipe off with a damp dishcloth and dry it off. I don't need a lot of flour to roll things out, and the weight is great. Not too heavy that it hurts my wrists, but not so light that I have to push really hard. I highly recommend this rolling pin, very well made, and the bearings in the roller are very smooth.Update 2-14-2012I still have this roller! It has never been in the dishwasher, instead it gets wiped off with a damp cloth when needed. Still rolls beautifully, no squeaking. No cracks, perfect condition. I use it on fondant and modeling chocolate, so I'm pushing on it pretty good, and it's holding up great.
